Titelbild Podcast zu Richard Serra

The recently deceased American sculptor Richard Serra (1939-2024) was the most important steelworker of the 20th century. His trademark: sculptures weighing several tonnes in rusted steel. He created sculptures for over 100 public places, from Philadelphia and St. Louis to São Paulo and Dillingen, Saarland, Germany (“Viewpoint”, 2006). Richard Serra had a very special relationship with Saarland, as since 1986 he had been buying the material for his artworks from the Dillingen steelworks. The exhibition at the Dillinger Kunstverein features black-and-white photographs by Dirk Reinartz, prints from the Scheidt collection, a model of Viewpoint and two films about the artist Richard Serra. The exhibition runs until 14 July 2024.
