Raphaela Vogel was born in Nuremberg in 1988 and is now regarded as the new comet in the art firmament. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg, at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and at De Ateliers Amsterdam. She lives and works in Berlin.
Raphaela Vogel films with drones and is generally well-positioned in terms of multimedia. She also has a talent for music. And all of this together results in veritable spectacles that are sometimes reminiscent of horror films, fantasy and funfair situations. What characterises her art is an exuberant imagination. The bizarre narratives of her sculptures and videos resemble dream sequences. At the same time, she addresses existential themes with her installations.
Her solo exhibition at the Centre for Contemporary Art in the former synagogue of Delme in Lorraine is entitled “International Comparison” and can be seen until the 20th of December.
